Site status definitions

The following statuses are used to track a site's progress through setup, enrollment, and closeout activities.

StatusDescription
DraftThe site record has been created but setup is still in progress. The site is not yet ready for participation or enrollment activities.
Pending opt-inThe site has been invited to participate but has not yet confirmed whether it will take part in the study.
Opted inThe site has confirmed participation in the study and is ready to continue through setup and activation activities.
Opted outThe site has declined participation in the study.
Enrollment readyThe site has completed the required setup activities and is ready to begin enrollment but is not yet actively receiving referrals or enrollment activity.
Campaign activeThe site is actively participating in enrollment activities and can receive referrals or candidates.
Campaign pausedEnrollment activities have been temporarily paused. The site remains part of the study and can be reactivated when ready.
InactiveEnrollment and site activities have been stopped. The site is no longer actively participating but may remain available for historical reporting and recordkeeping purposes.
DeletionThe site has reached the end of its lifecycle and is marked for removal or retirement from active use.

Important note

Some statuses can technically overlap. For example, a site may be Opted in and also have a Campaign active campaign.

When selecting a status, choose the most progressed applicable state. This ensures consistent reporting and provides the clearest view of where the site currently sits in the lifecycle.
