What's a browser call?

Modified on Sun, 3 Aug at 5:31 PM

Browser calling—also known as VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calling—is a feature in the Honey platform that allows users to make phone calls directly through their internet browser, without needing a physical phone or external app.

This calling method is fully integrated into Honey’s interface, so you can connect with candidates using your headset and computer microphone.

How It Works

  • "Call options" includes an option for browser calls.
  • Clicking this button uses your browser and internet connection to initiate the call.
  • You speak and listen through your computer’s microphone and speakers (or headset).
  • Honey logs call attempts, durations, and timestamps automatically.

Benefits

  • No extra equipment required: just your computer and internet
  • Streamlined workflow: call candidates without switching platforms
  • Activity tracking: calls are automatically logged in the candidate's history
  • Secure and compliant: calls are handled through Trialbee’s platform, not personal devices

Things to Know

  • You’ll need a stable internet connection and a working microphone/headset
  • Some networks (e.g., corporate VPNs or firewalls) may block VoIP traffic
  • Browser calling may not be available in all studies or user roles

Tips for Best Performance

  • Use Google Chrome for the most reliable experience
  • Check that your browser has permission to access your microphone
  • Use a wired headset for the clearest audio and fewer connectivity issues
