How does Honey keep me signed in?
Honey uses your browser session to help keep you signed in while you are using the platform.
If your session is not saved or refreshed correctly, Honey may ask you to sign in again. This does not usually mean there is an issue with your account. It is often related to browser settings, cookies, cached data, or network security settings.
What can affect my sign-in session?
Several things can affect how long your session stays active, including:
- Browser cookie settings
- Strict privacy settings
- Outdated cached browser data
- Session timeout
- VPN or company security tools
- Multiple Honey tabs or sessions open at the same time
- Closing, refreshing, or interrupting the sign-in or authentication process
Cookies are especially important because they help your browser remember your active session. If cookies are blocked, Honey may not be able to keep you signed in.
What should I check?
Try the following steps:
- Make sure your browser allows cookies.
- Check whether strict privacy settings are blocking session cookies.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Close all Honey tabs.
- Open Honey again in a new browser tab.
- Sign in and complete any authentication steps.
- Use the latest version of Google Chrome or another supported, up-to-date browser.
You can also try signing in from a private or incognito window to check whether browser extensions, saved data, or local settings are affecting your session.
Good to know: Avoid keeping multiple Honey tabs or sessions open at the same time, since this may affect how your session is maintained. If your study uses MFA or 2FA
If your study requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or two-factor authentication (2FA), complete the verification step before closing, refreshing, or navigating away from the page.
If the verification step is interrupted, Honey may ask you to sign in again.
