What metrics do I see on the Study progress tab?

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The 'Study progress' tab provides you with insights on how your recruitment activities are performing compared to the study recruitment targets you’ve set in Honey. This guide will walk you through how to use filtering and study targets to get to the study insights you need.

Contact your Trialbee project manager or support@trialbee.com if you want targets to be set up for your study.

Study progress filters

All metrics displayed on the Study progress tab can be filtered by Time range, Site, or referrer.
Time range filter

The time range will be set to All available days by default with options for the last 7 days, 30 days, or a custom time range inclusive of the last previously completed day.

Site filter

Site filtering allows you to select a single site, multiple sites, or all sites in a country so you only see metrics for those selected site(s). If you have a long list of sites, entering the site #, name of the site, or the name of the PI into the search box will help you isolate the site you’re searching for.

Note: Selecting a site from the list, then deleting the search term will keep the site selected as you search or scroll for more.

Referrer filter

The referrer filter will isolate the displayed metrics to a specific origin that referred candidates to the Honey self-assessment widget. A single referrer or multiple referrers can be selected from this filter.

Patients per site per month (P/S/M)

The rate of patients referred to site, per site, per month. Calculated using the actual number of candidates referred to site divided by the current number of active sites and the elapsed time of the campaign.

Note: The red thumbs down icon appears when the ratio falls below the Target number set in Honey’s Study settings. Alternatively, if the P/S/M is above the target rate, a green thumbs up will appear.

P/S/M target

The target rate of patients referred to site, per site, per month. Calculated using the target number of candidates referred to site divided by target number of active sites and expected length of the recruitment campaign in months.

Note: The target number of candidates, active site goals, and recruitment durations are set in Honey’s Study settings area.

Active sites

The number of sites in Active or Paused status available to take referrals. The target number of active sites is set in the Honey Study Settings.

Note: Paused sites can still receive referrals from a secondary screener, but do not appear in the site list for a candidate to select in the pre-screening widget (if used).

Screen failure rate

The percentage of candidates disqualified post-consent (after being referred to a site and consented) with the reason 'screen failure', out of the total candidates who either enrolled or were screen-failed. The target percentage of screen fails is set in the Honey study settings.

Candidates over time

The quantities in the line chart represent the total number of candidates that have passed through each of the steps of the recruitment funnel listed to the right of the chart:

  1. Self-Assessment Completed - Each time the online questionnaire was answered in-full and passed the initial criteria.
  2. Referred to Site - The secondary assessment was passed and the candidate was sent to a study site.
  3. Consented - The referral was marked as consented by the study site indicating they signed their ICF.
  4. Enrolled - The referral has enrolled or randomized into the study as noted by the site updating the status.

Clicking on the Actual and Target filters next to “Candidates over time” will allow you to display only the candidate statuses you want along with their corresponding targets.
