What is the Insights module?The Insights module is the analytics hub in the Honey Platform. It provides a real-time, visual overview of your recruitment efforts so you can track site progress, source effectiveness, and candidate flow through the funnel. | ![]() |
Insights are available through four tabs, all of which can be filtered by:

1. Study progress
Use this tab to monitor study-wide performance and site-level contribution over time.
Key metrics:
- Referrals per site per month: See where volume is coming from and track trends
- Active sites: Understand how many sites are actively processing referrals
- Screen failure rate: Gauge candidate quality and pre-screening efficiency
- Candidates over time vs. target: Visualize actual vs. expected enrollment pace
- Find your main study KPIs: Self-assessments completed, Referred to site, Consented, Enrolled
When to use this tab:
- Identify underperforming sites early
- Compare monthly referral volumes
- Spot enrollment slowdowns or spikes
2. Candidate sources
This tab helps you understand which referral sources are working and which aren’t.
Key visuals:
- Funnel per referrer: Conversion performance for each source of referrals (i.e. Trialbee, Omnichannel Partners)
- Candidates per source with breakdown by channel
- Cost per referral / cost per enrolled calculator
When to use this tab:
- Optimize marketing spend
- Shift budget toward higher-performing channels
- Track ROI by source
3. Funnel performance
Track the full recruitment funnel from first engagement to enrollment.
Metrics and funnel stages:
- Self-assessment opened through enrolled
- Pull-through rates for each step
- Outcomes for all funnel categories
When to use this tab:
- Spot bottlenecks in the process (e.g., high abandonment or ineligibility)
- Evaluate where candidate loss is occurring
- Align with internal recruitment KPIs
4. My candidates and sites
Dive deeper into site-specific and candidate-level activity.
Insights provided:
- Quantity of candidates in process (and their funnel stages)
- Time in process for the sites (median)
- Site performance scores with drill-down capabilities
- Site-specific funnels
When to use this tab:
- Track how quickly sites are acting on referrals
- Compare site performance across regions
- Prioritize outreach to sites falling behind
Best practices
- Set a weekly or bi-weekly cadence to review dashboard data
- Combine filters (e.g., by site and source) to uncover performance patterns
- Use cost metrics to guide channel optimization conversations
- Export data where needed to support internal reporting
